05 Jun Sketchbook flipthrough
Sharing some of my old sketchbooks, charting stories of travels, visits to the salon, or simply painting what lies in front of me…
Both the sketchbooks featured below are from Stillman & Birn, the portrait one being the S&B Gamma, and the landscape one being the Delta.
I might get into more detailed reviews later, but in short, the Gamma is my favourite among the two.
The light paper feels less precious to ruin, the ivory colour gives everything a soft warmth. The portrait format makes it easy to hold while outdoors and also gives a pleasing squarish format when opened to a double spread. The cold press takes watercolour just enough for a travel sketchbook, though it can be ruined by over wetting!
Enough talk already! Enjoy the flipthrough!
